A TRIO OF IDEAS
Feb 14, 2024When life serves up a problem, it’s time to use your free resources to help you move to a solution. Here is how I do that. I ask for help. I say, I’m not sure what to do with this problem, but I bet there are a million solutions that I can’t see. Help me see the best one for me.
This sort of affirmation works for me all the time. I use it when I am stuck. I use it when I am mired in indecision. I use it when I can’t decide what to wear. It never fails me.
Here is why I think it works. First, it sets the stage honestly as to the problem. Here is where I am. Then, it affirms the existence of solutions, including ones I can’t see yet. Last, it welcomes in my spirit to help me see the solution that is best for me.
The answer isn’t always immediate, but I find that the answers reach me eventually. Even a non-answer is an answer to me, as it tells me that I am not yet ready to hear the solution that is best for me. I can accept that, and still hold out hope that when I am ready to know, I will know.
The answer isn’t always immediate, but I find that the answers reach me eventually.
Most of us were taught prayers that recite words that aren’t our own. I have found far more comfort, and more success, using my own words to say where I am, what I want, and to express a positive expectation of getting what I want. This one combination works for my goals, my problems, and my middle-of-the-night freak outs when I find myself worrying over something silly from my day. For those, I empty out what I am thinking, I turn my attention to that which I want and state it, and then I turn it all over for safekeeping to those who love me.
I can’t cite statistics, or show you scientific research, that this works, even though I know it does. I can’t regale you with examples except to say that this combination works for me in every aspect of my life. I can’t convince you of this formula, but I will suggest that you give it a try.
Say honestly where you are. Pour out your troubles. Then, state clearly what you want. Again, with honesty. Then affirm that you are sure that there are a million solutions that you aren’t seeing yet, and that you are grateful that the best one is coming for you.
